Story from Newark Advertiser.
A veterans’ club has opened its arms to emergency services personnel — and held its first breakfast club since the change.
Newark RAFA Club has become the Newark Services Club, inviting anyone who has worked or seved in the armed forces, police, fire, ambulance, NHS and prison services to join the club.
The move was taken when an opportunity arose for the club to expand and buy the building at London Road carpark, securing a safe home for the club, explained trustee Susan Parker.
Each month the club hosts a breakfast club for the veterans, and Saturday (June 10) marked the first since it became the services club.
